Have you ever thought to yourself “Gee insert name here.. you’d be so much cooler if you knew how to sword fight. ” Too bad sword fighting is so 14th century.. WRONG! Did you know that Barrie has it’s very own sword fighting club, studying Italian manuals from the 14th century? The art of sword fighting in modern terms is referred to as Historical European Martial Arts, or HEMA for short.
Dueling Weapons Academy of Renaissance Fencing is proud to announce our first round of Introduction to Italian Long sword classes!
We are offering a 6 part series of introduction classes for the month of January for a small fee of $60. Each class will be 2 hours long, on Tuesdays from 6pm to 8pm. The only thing you need to bring is gym clothes/indoor shoes, water bottles and the willingness to learn!
These classes are also open to people with previous HEMA experience looking for a refresher!
