Help us to reunite Autumn with her family: $50,000 Reward offered by Barrie Police Service

Autumn Shaganash was reported missing to the Barrie Police Service on Monday, June 12, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. She was last seen leaving a family member’s home on Friday, June 9, near Burton Avenue and Franks Way at 11:00 p.m.
Between 9:30-9:45 a.m. Saturday morning (June 10), a text message was received from Autumn asking to be picked up. Only three minutes passed and when her sister tried to respond to the message, her phone went to voicemail and appeared to have been turned off.
Autumn was a regular user of social media and since that Saturday morning text, no one has heard from her.
Autumn was last seen in the area of Sunnidale Park (close to the intersection of Sunnidale Road and Letitia Street) between 10:00 a.m. and noon hour and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, tan-coloured leggings, slip on Puma sandals and was carrying a black and tan coloured purse. She was making her way to the Barrie Waterfront to watch an Air Show with a male friend who was walking slightly ahead of her when she vanished. At the same time, a walk for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) was taking place in the park and being a pleasant Saturday in June, the park was a busy place. Police have made public appeals for surveillance video and any potential witnesses who may have seen Autumn on that day to come forward.
Since then, Sunnidale Park has been searched and researched five times on foot under the direction of a qualified Search Master, utilizing canine units, a remote piloted aircraft system and by members of the Barrie Police Emergency Support Unit. Searches have also taken place in Toronto and Sarnia, but these too failed to turn up any evidence that could assist in this ongoing investigation.
The Barrie Police Service is confident that someone has information regarding the disappearance of Autumn Shaganash and is hopeful, that with the offering of this reward of up to $50,000, which has been authorized by the Barrie Police Services Board, will result in the call that detectives from the Major Crime Unit have been waiting to receive. Barrie Police Chief Rich Johnston states “I hope that the offering of this reward, will provide our investigators the information they are seeking to bring resolution to this investigation and peace to Autumn’s family. We know someone has the information, no matter how small it may seem, to assist in this investigation. Now is the time for that person to call our Major Crime Unit and share it.”
