Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Barrie and some sorrounding areas. The majority of the heavy rain will come between 6 and 8 with some stronger cells arriving around 9:30. As of 4pm, we have already seen minor flooding on sideroads. With the low temperatures and more rain coming you can assume there will be flooding. Below is the official statement from Environment Canada. Summary Mild temperatures and potentially heavy rain today and tonight. Periods of rain, heavy at times, are expected to begin this morning and continue tonight. Rainfall amounts in the 15 to 25 mm range are expected by early Friday morning. A few isolated thunderstorms are also possible today and tonight.
