Anyone who’s going to the Taylor Swift concert? The Barrie GO Train will be running

Anyone who’s going to the Taylor Swift concert? The Barrie GO Train will be running back to Barrie an hour later to accommodate! This is only happening after the Taylor Swift shows, however, I think this change should be permanent as many events in Toronto run past 11PM, and the only other 2 options are TTC or bus to Newmarket… both options require Barrie residents to drive an hour. I’d much rather get home at 1:30AM as opposed to 2:30-3:00AM after an event in Toronto! Plus something about fewer cars on the road… Source

Barrie planning staff is proposing to allow four-story apartment buildings

Barrie planning staff is proposing to allow four-story apartment buildings on any residential street in the city. This will cut you out of the planning process. No other City in Ontario is doing what is proposed by planning staff in Barrie. There are many good places for low rise apartments in Barrie. And there many examples of where they fit in well. We need this form of housing. However, allowing them anywhere without public input is wrong. City of Barrie planning staff are proposing to put 12 to 25 story apartment building

City of Barrie planning staff are proposing to put 12 to 25 story apartment buildings beside single detached homes all across the City and cut the public out of the planning process. No other municipality in Ontario is doing what is proposed by planning staff in Barrie, for a good reason. It cuts you as residents entirely out of the decisions about what happens on your street. There are very appropriate places for high density development in Barrie, but beside single-family homes is not one of them. Below is a list of most of the streets where apartments will be permitted behind or beside single detached homes. **Bayfield from Highway 400 to North city limit** Rosedale Place, Chestnut Court, Aspen Drive, Farmingdale Crescent, Stanley Street, Trevino Court, Duval Drive, Piercy Crescent, Lyfytt Crescent. Livingston St.,, Kozlov Street, Glenwood Drive, Gulfdale Road, Argyle R…
