If anyone lives in Innisfil near Sandy Cove, please read. There is a development proposed at 706 Lockhart on a sensitive wetlands that will not only destroy the native endangered species, but compromise all of our well water too. We arent opposed to development, only that which will literally destroy native habitats and our basic human rights to access to water. We have started a petition and if you are inclined, please sign and share. This developer is proposing to put 310 units there. They have three other developments in the area so they are not going to miss out. Source

**Concern** – Good afternoon Barrie residents, this has recently been brought to my attention

**Concern** - Good afternoon Barrie residents, this has recently been brought to my attention, & I wanted to share. There is a proposal to build a 25-story condo complex on Dunlop Street E, which would replace the current plaza that holds Late Apex Simulators, Cocina Mexicana, & more. I have provided a link below if anyone is interested in signing up to attend the proposal meeting that will be taking place virtually on March 4th! When accessing the link, please ensure you are clicking on “149, 151 & 153 Dunlop Street East” & then proceed with signing up for the meeting. Much thanks to everyone who is willing to participate! https://www.barrie.ca/planning-building-infrastructure/current-projects/development-projects Source

Taking one of the oldest most established, Historical Streets and Neighbourhoods

Taking one of the oldest most established, Historical Streets and Neighbourhoods in all of Barrie and sell out to Outsiders and destroy an entire community’s quality of life that we’ve come to know for decades and generations. Century old trees are no more and making way for backyard parking lots, 4-storeys with rooftop gathering, x15 car parking on a single detached home property… We are asking those of you that still have a heart and a soul to please sign-up for the Public Hearing on Tuesday February 27th as we need to stand in mass solidarity to try and preserve what little remains of Barrie, Ontario’s History. #cityofbarrie #thecityofbarrie Source

I’m a Barrie resident since 2008. One of my hobbies is metal detecting.

(Not a concern) I'm a Barrie resident since 2008. One of my hobbies is metal detecting. I am wiling to work out any arrangement with the land owner to split finds in a mutually agreeable manner. I am a responsible, ethical individual who has always put my best foot forward in any hobby I pursue. I have been very fortunate to establish a permission out in Coldwater last year with a wonderful couple, and look forward to continuing to develop further permission opportunities within the Simcoe County region. If you have ever wondered what kind of history is on your property, or even if you want to further your understanding of family genera…

Just curious to see if anyone else has encountered this yet

Just curious to see if anyone else has encountered this yet of receiving text messages claiming that you haven’t paid your ETR bill if you have been on the 407? We haven’t been on since early Fall of 2023 and we paid that bill (will confirm with bank) my kiddo also received same text, so I am ignoring it for the moment. But also wanted to share for those who may have been on the 407 then get a message like this when you know you paid your bill. Happy Saturday Barrie residents! Source
