Police investigate robbery

On Friday, May 10, 2024, just before 11:00 p.m., Barrie Police responded to a report of a robbery at a plaza located on Essa Road in the City of Barrie.
From the investigation that followed, responding officers have been able to confirm that the two male victims were approached by three occupants that emerged from a red, 4-door, Chevrolet Cruze. One of the victims was initially struck by a conducted energy weapon and when he recovered, he ran away from the scene. The other male victim ran to a nearby restaurant as he believed one of the suspects was armed with a firearm.
The suspect who is believed to been in possession of a firearm followed the victim into the restaurant where an assaultive interaction occurred. The suspect demanded the victim’s satchel and phone and fearing for his safety, the victim complied.
The assaultive male is described as Filipino, wearing a beige hoody with the word ‘Essentials’ embroidered on the front, black ripped jeans, wearing a ski mask, approximately 6’1, skinny build, light skin with small dark eyes. The male with the conducted energy weapon which was shaped like a baton, is male white, wearing a black sweater, black ripped jeans, wearing a ski mask. The third male is white, wore a hoodie with SP5DER on the front and was carrying a flashlight.
All three male suspects are believed to be between 17-19 years of age and there was a white female observed driving the involved motor vehicle.
