This Saturday on my way out of the Farmer’s market, I discovered the Regimental Museum on Mulcaster St. I have never heard of it and just happened to be walking by! Thought I’d share it with others in case you were looking for something to do downtown with the family.
It’s free entry and we received a wonderful tour from a gentleman named Jean. You could tell he was SO PROUD of what he did, our local history and what they had available in the museum. I asked if I could share the museum on the local Barrie group and he was happy to receive more visitors! We were the only ones in the museum at the time so it’ll be a nice treat for a quick visit.
There were so many beautiful artifacts, including 100+ year old uniforms of soldiers and nurses in the war, countless medals and little relics made by soldiers in the trenches. I didn’t want to take pictures inside as I thought it would be best to see in person. It is a *small* museum but the local history and collection found in this little drill hall is impressive.
