Police investigate robbery By: Peter Leon On Friday, May 10, 2024, just before 11:00 p.m., Barrie Police responded to a report of a robbery at a plaza located on Essa Road in the City of Barrie. From the investigation that followed, responding officers have been able to confirm that the two male victims were approached by three occupants that emerged from a red, 4-door, Chevrolet Cruze. One of the victims was initially struck by a conducted energy weapon and when he recovered, he ran away from the scene. The other male victim ran to a nearby restaurant as he believed one of the suspects was armed with a firearm. The suspect who is believed to been in possession of a firearm followed the victim into the restaurant where an assaultive interaction occurred. The suspect demanded the victim’s satchel and phone and fearing for his safety, the victim complied. We’ve put out flyers and done all the things that all the kind people have commented in my last post (in another fb group). She’s 7, all black, short hair, white tuff on neck, smaller face, shorter tail, little chubby, microchipped, spayed. We’ve been monitoring our garage with food and her items and there’s a resident skunk and stray male cat that is still coming by. If anyone lives in the area we ask kindly to check under decks, sheds garages etc. we are worried sick. Source
