Hey everyone, just wanted to give anyone in the neighborhood of Anne Street North a heads up our car was ransacked in broad daylight between 6-7pm tonight. We live a few houses up from Portage View public school. Nothing of value was taken, the fact my children and nieces were playing in my open back yard at the time is much more upsetting. I understand people checking cars has been a common issue around Letitia area in the middle of the night, but it was still bright out and on a busy street. It’s unsettling to say the least. I’ve filed a police report, but there wasn’t any damage so not much they can do/pursue. Just check your vehicles and keep an eye on your kiddos. Source

Hi everyone! Last evening at some point, our cat Miles got out of the house. I didn’t notice until bedtime because he keeps to himself until the kids are in bed. I saw him dart behind my house when I looked outside but was unsuccessful in finding him after that last sighting. If anyone is in the area of Wellington W and Eccles and you see him, message me please. Also, any tips for finding a lost cat in Barrie (which shelters he’s most likely to be brought to) would be appreciated. Thanks❤️ Source

The bag is a Steve Madden backpack, completely empty, no ID or anything inside but all zippers were open. Looks basically bare new! Found around 9:05pm, September 2nd. If anyone has lost this bag or knows anyone , please message me ! I want to make sure it gets back to the right person ! Source

This afternoon I had the privilege of meeting with Andrea Khanjin at her office in #Barrie. I would like to thank Andrea for taking the time to hear me out, and also for being interested in learning more about the first-hand accounts of the people who are struggling to survive in unbelievable “living” conditions here in our own backyards. It is no stretch of the imagination when I say there are thousands of people in our City who’re starving, and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to inform our local MPP of just how bad things really are for so many, and just how little our government is actually doing about it. I am also delighted that Fresh Food Weekly has received recognition for the important work we do in our #community regarding feeding the vulnerable.
