He is a extremely friendly and gentle kitty! Just a little PSA to those of you that are using the detour on rose street here in barrie since grove and duckworth are closed. It goes from a 50km to a 40Km when you turn down rose street please watch the signage, there are a lot of kids on this street including my own plus people out walking their dogs. The amount of cars that I have been seeing speeding down my street the last hour is appalling. Also to add those of you that are turning from St. Vincent to go up grove and then go down blue mound drive to rose st to head to duckworth *** There is a stop sign*** USE IT!! multiple of cars are blowing through that stop sign. I’m not just posting this for myself but I want to make sure no one gets hurt. Let’s all remember to slow down a little. Source

Last summer, on Aug. 11, 2022, I did a post about one of our 74-year-old recipients and a lot of people showed their concern for her so I thought it might be nice to let you all know how she’s doing. I also wanted to let you know that she is still struggling. Anyone lose a car last night? This is at money mart on essa this morning and this mess reeks of joyride and ditch, or impaired driver! Hopefully were wrong but thought we should post it just in case! Lots of onlookers checking it out because it's such a random wreck. We have a picture of the plate as well but don't want to post it for privacy reasons. Either way what a mess! ****UPDATE**** kitty has been claimed and is perfectly fine. We hope he continues to visit I have a cat that comes to my house between 4-6am every morning.. and sometimes throughout the day. He/she hangs out on the porch, scratching at the door. Lays on the window sill and plays in the backyard. I'm assuming he or she is a house cat cuz they're clean but I'm not entirely sure. The cat is also SUPER friendly and tries desperately sometimes to come in the house. I dont mind the cat coming around I was just wondering if someone was looking for the cat or if the he/she was just a friendly outdoor cat We're in the southeast end near Big Bay Point and Loon Source

Fresh Food Weekly is hosting a ‘Healthy Cooking Summer Workshop for Kids’ fundraiser on Monday, July 17th at Countryside United Church from 3-5pm for children ages eight to 12. Children will be making a crispy chicken parmesan for the main course, and lemon raspberry scones for dessert, so your child will come home with dinner ready to eat! This two-hour workshop will be taught by my mom, Mary Dyck, who is donating her time to help out with this fundraiser! My mom has had a big influence on my own eating habits because she has spent the last eight years teaching children about eating healthy, out of Soldier’s Memorial Hospital in Orillia. 50% of the registration fee will go towards feeding recipients currently on our food security program (the rest is for food!)
