Our locked car was rummaged, change taken, few minor items as well - found a long hard piece of plastic on backseat floor. No damage to doors or windows. Cameras say they were offline, no footage. Apparently thieves of convenience getting bolder!

Just a heads up... First and only time riding my bike downtown... I locked it up on Collier st, across from the farmers market today at about 12pm... After a fantastic day downtown, I went back to get it ..only to find this. 😢
I spoke to a police officer who happened to be driving by...he said this happens 100's of times A DAY. Asked me to report it online.
Ugh. I love that bike.

Since everyone seems to forget how to drive. When you come to the Mapleview you exit from the 400 where’s there’s 2 right turn lanes and 2 left turn lanes, you turn into the lane THAT YOU ARE IN, not the middle lane when you’re in the far right lane. I cannot count the number of times I’ve had to swerve out of the way from almost being hit here. Below is a guide how to do it 🤣🤣🥴

Would love to get the opinion of Barrie residence on whether or not organized Jetski rentals is something Barrie needs. We have deliberately built this set up to eliminate the liability for the City of Barrie. Rentals are guided to ensure that renters are limited to a specific riding area. All drivers must meet age requirement, as well as carry on them, Transport Canada approved, temporary boater permit. And of course we’re fully insured. Our goal is to allow easier water access for those if you wish to be on the water this summer while respecting others. We’ve pulled back several stranded boats, rescued paddle boarders and save a drowning man so we’re not off to a bad start. And we purchased a Barrie Marina launch pass so we’re not free loading. Tried to call the city and contact counsel with no reply.
