How to recognize a cat that needs help. This post is intended to educate the ignorant, or inform the rightous. This morning I read another recipient’s story and I’m absolutely furious. I’m so enraged that the Barrie Municipal Non Profit Housing Corporation (BMNPHC) and Ontario Works (OW; a.k.a welfare) are so indifferent to victims of crimes against humanity. The reason I’m talking about this is because no one else will and the public needs to know what’s really going on. This is the story of one of the recipients of our meal box delivery program - who will absolutely be receiving a meal box each month. Interestingly, it was her sister who lives in Ottawa, who reached out to me after Googling resources in Barrie for people who are starving. I am teaching a class on healthy food choices to 13-14 year-old Sea Cadets

I am teaching a class on healthy food choices to 13-14 year-old Sea Cadets on 21 September. Would any dietician or nutritionist be willing to lend me a physical plate with the servings marked on it and copies of the new food guide? I do know I can download the guide, just trying to have training aids that work with all different types of learners. Source

Hey everyone, just wanted to give anyone in the neighborhood of Anne Street North

Hey everyone, just wanted to give anyone in the neighborhood of Anne Street North a heads up our car was ransacked in broad daylight between 6-7pm tonight. We live a few houses up from Portage View public school. Nothing of value was taken, the fact my children and nieces were playing in my open back yard at the time is much more upsetting. I understand people checking cars has been a common issue around Letitia area in the middle of the night, but it was still bright out and on a busy street. It’s unsettling to say the least. I’ve filed a police report, but there wasn’t any damage so not much they can do/pursue. Just check your vehicles and keep an eye on your kiddos. Source
