A heads up to all! This “paving company” has hit various areas of the city before moving on we think to Durham. Homeowners are being bullied and intimidated into giving them money. They tear up the driveway and disappear, or do a terrible job and then frighten the homeowner into paying them anyway. They then leave a terrible mess that they never come back for. Their phone number rings through to an always-full voice mailbox. We checked out the address on their flyers and property management says they’ve never heard of them. Even their license plates are fake. Police say it isn’t fraud as they start work, usually by tearing up a part of the existing drive. This is a sophisticated scam. The company name may be changed by now. Victims say the people they speak with have noticeable Irish accents. They don’t seem selective with their targeting but many of the people who have been ripped off are seniors, new Canadians, single parents - all good people who didn’t deserve this. If yo…

Not a concern, just a genuine question 🙂 can anyone reccomend a lookout spot in the barrie area? I have a friend who mentioned a while ago ‘I wish we could just park somewhere or lay in a field in the dark and watch the stars’ and she’s having a terrible day so I’d like to take her to do that tonight! (St Vincent &grove area) On Friday night around 10.30pm I was sat in my living room and someone came up to the window and knocked on it, I was home alone with my daughter and was not expecting any guests. I looked out but could not see anything as it was so dark, I locked all my doors and called the non emergency police number. They attended and scanned the are but couldn’t see anyone. Just wondered if anyone has had a similar experience? It was a really scary thing to happen when your a woman on your own. Source

On my backyard camera this morning…. Looking around our deck and property…. Very creepy. For those saying he may be looking for a lost dog… our security camera has sound and he never called out or made any noise.. Update: I saw him asking for money downtown. He actually came up to me and asked for change… had I not been with my elderly family members - I would have had some words. Also, last week… we had a woman in broad daylight walk into our backyard and proceed to shoot up behind our garage. No judgement. Just not feeling too safe. Source

Anyone sign up for the free parking pass in the "Hot Spot" app? I tried and it Wanted me to select a plan and add credit card. Cannot seem to bypass it to get the free pass. Would rather not have my credit card floating around. Does anyone have any insight? Source

Recently I have seen numerous food couriers park in disabled spots

Recently I have seen numerous food couriers park in disabled spots while they go into restaurants to pick up there order. They are too lazy to park in vacant spots 10 ft away. I have confronted a couple of them but they look at me like I have horns. Unfortunately a bylaw officer must actually see them so taking a picture and sending them in doesn't help. Anyone got any suggestions. I just needed to rant. Source

to the woman in the white t shirt at central park(at toronto-wellington st )you had a beautiful dog,reddish brown. pit cross,, what disturbed me is that while you were trying to hold your dog,as i could tell he or she is very strong,you were not succeeding very well, THAT DOESNT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO KICK YOUR DOG IN THE HEAD,AND RIBS!!!! i was driving or i would have tried to put a stop to this cruel behavior towards your dog.. if you cant handle your dog ,then place him in a home with someone who can. you are a discusting human being!!! He was lounging on someone's lawn so i'm going to go look tomorrow when i have more information. He was spotted a few days ago on browning trail so it seems he's moving closer to home .Jingles has gone missing from the Broadfoot Road/ Letitia heights area. He is less than 20 lbs, neutered and very sweet.
